Streaming subscriptions have outpaced pay-TV in the US for the first time


Streaming video subscriptions in the US have outpaced the number of paid cable and satellite television subscriptions for the first time according to the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the organization responsible for putting on the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Vizio tracked TV viewers and sold data without consent


Vizio is one of the most popular TV manufacturers in the United States, mostly thanks to its aggressive pricing and solid line-up of 4K displays. As it turns out, Vizio managed to undercut their competitors not by accepting smaller margins on their TVs, but by selling their users' viewing data to advertisers without their consent.
